My name is Heath Honzell, and I currently live in Whitehouse, Texas. I was born and raised in Pittsburg, TX, a small town of about 4,000 people. I grew up in the church, but as I grew older I went less and less, eventually not going at all. At around 16 years old I started drinking and doing drugs, conforming to the crowd. As I look back now, I think the main reason is strayed is because I stopped caring and had no one to hold me accountable. I listened to rap music almost exclusively and idolized the lifestyle it portrayed. Almost every action was driven by an image I was trying to live up to, the image that was created by the music. At the time I had no idea how much music played a role in my life.

Over several years and after a few near death experiences, I started to wake up and recognize an empty feeling in my life. Although I went home every night drunk and high, I still prayed for a change. Change came the summer of 2009 when I asked my future wife out on our first date. The changes in my life were like night and day. After only a few months of dating I quit smoking and drinking and started going back to church. I asked for forgiveness and gave my life back to Jesus that summer.

I have always loved music, and because of the negative impact it had on my life, I wanted to create music that could impact people’s lives in a positive way. This is my first album, and my prayer throughout the entire process was that God would speak through me and use me to wake up sinners and encourage Christians.
